About the Depot
The Depot is operated by the Ellerslie Volunteer Fire Department and is available for use by community residents, nonprofit organizations, civic clubs, businesses and nonresidents. Use of the Depot is scheduled on a first-come first-served basis and EVFD events are given first priority. A user fee is charged to offset utility and maintenance costs. The handicapped accessible Depot now features two new restrooms, six lighted ceiling fans, central heat and air, a large front deck and ramp. The original railroad ticket window now works as a convenient pass-through serving window in the newly remodeled kitchen.
The exterior of the Depot, with its Victorian gingerbread trim, is painted in the original 1891 color scheme. Inside the original wood flooring, two antique church pews and an antique piano add to the Depot’s charm. Please see our newly added Virtual Tour under our Photos Link.
